Triple Nines Bar and Billiards: Pool Paradise

If you long for the days when you would chalk up the old cue stick and break a game of 9-ball, come to Triple Nines Bar and Billiards. Located on Washington Boulevard near the Beltway, Triple offers a variety of indoor sports options. Come in and sample one of the 14 nine-foot tables or two new pocket-less billiard tables, affordable to rent at $5 per hour for one player, $9 per hour for two, or $12 per hour for three players. There are also four coin-operated tables available. Stick around after your game for some lunch or dinner – the Triple Nines has a menu of sandwiches, subs, wraps, and salads. And you’re sure to find something at the Triple Nines’s excellent bar. Sign up for league nights for pool, darts, or foosball, and think about reserving Triple Nines for a group function!

National Electronics Museum: Circuits of History

Even if you’re not an electronics geek, chances are you’ll find something to pique your interest at the National Electronics Museum in Linthicum, Maryland. From the first telegraph machines to the latest in satellite technology, the entire array of electronics technology is laid out in formats geared to a wide range of ages and levels of understanding. The Fundamentals Gallery provides a basic overview of the principles of electricity. Other galleries include Early Radar, Communications, Cold War Radar, Space Sensors, Electro-Opticals and Counter-Measures. An operational amateur radio station lets you get up close to the workings of radiographic communications. Enthusiastic volunteer docents are on hand to offer additional guidance. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children and students. The National Electronics Museum is open Mondays through Saturdays.

Stained Glass Pub: Sports and More

Located across from the Best Western Inn, the Stained Glass Pub is known for its affordable menu and great atmosphere. Come in and relax – there are lots of tables and booths, as well as a big bar. Don’t worry about missing a minute of the big game – there are wide-screen televisions throughout the bar and dining area! Grab a drink and ask the wait staff about the weekly specials, like half-price pizza night on Mondays and Tuesdays, wings and wine Wednesdays, and Thirsty Thursdays' Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to closing. Everybody raves about the great pizza at the Stained Glass Pub, but the salads, sandwiches and entrees are always outstanding. This is a place you’ll want to come back to!

Rockburn Branch Park: Elkridge Park

As part of the Howard County system of Parks and Recreation, Rockburn Branch Park is 415 acres of beauty. If you have an outdoor activity planned, Rockburn Park is the place to have it! Hikers will find 7.4 miles of trails that show off the scenic beauty of the park. Enjoy the woodlands, marshes and streams. If you’re into team sports, there are a total of 10 baseball diamonds, two multi-purpose synthetic turf fields, three grass fields, basketball courts and a playground. There are also tennis courts and an 18-hole disc golf course. If you can’t find a place to play, you’re not looking hard enough! Want to have a picnic? There are picnic areas and grills that are available on a first-come basis. With this much space to enjoy, you can’t help but have a good time!

Volleyball House: Set and Spike
